Thanks for your reply, Ping, I must have done something wrong, as
re-installing from scratch did the trick. Apparently "make install"
doesn't by default install the X drivers, I had to manually copy them
(plus I'm on an x86_64 Fedora 6 system), that seemed to do it... I will
try the driver version you suggest. A note, though, the problem with the
GIMP (only being able to use the wacom devices in absolute mode + 
screen in GTK-input) seems to be corrected now, I'm able to use relative
mode (my favorite) and Screen settings in GTK-input.
