doesn't need Wacom kernel driver, which is needed by USB tablet.
However, Wacom don't make serial tablets any more.  This means you can
not get the features that supported by new tablet models, such as menu
strips of Intuos3 and Cintiq 21UX, tablet scroll wheel of Graphire 4,
tablet ring of Bamboo, and ExpressKeys, from serial tablets.
