The IESG has received a request from the Locator/ID Separation Protocol WG (lisp) to consider the following document: - 'The Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) for Multicast Environments' <draft-ietf-lisp-rfc6831bis-06.txt> as Proposed Standard
The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the [email protected] mailing lists by 2026-08-26. Exceptionally, comments may be sent to [email protected] instead. In either case, please retain the beginning of the Subject line to allow automated sorting. Abstract This document describes the design for inter-domain multicast overlays using the Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) architecture and protocols. The document specifies how LISP multicast overlays operate over multicast and unicast underlays. The mechanisms in this specification indicate how a signal-based approach using the PIM protocol can be used to program LISP encapsulators with a replication list in a locator-set, where the replication list can be a mix of multicast and unicast locators. This document when approved obsoletes RFC6831 The file can be obtained via https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-lisp-rfc6831bis/ No IPR declarations have been submitted directly on this I-D. _______________________________________________ lisp mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
