Hi everyone, there is currently a discussion about using Apache licensed ECC code from Google end-to-end in OpenPGP.js: http://www.mail-archive.com/list%40openpgpjs.org/msg00789.html
Apache version 2 is incompatible with GPL version 2, but not with the current version 3: http://www.apache.org/licenses/GPL-compatibility.html OpenPGP.js is currently licensed "LGPL v2.1 or later": https://github.com/openpgpjs/openpgpjs/blob/master/src/openpgp.js#L7 https://github.com/openpgpjs/openpgpjs/blob/master/LICENSE To get this roadblock out of the way and to avoid any uncertainties, I would like to propose we upgrade to LGPL version 3: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl-3.0.txt To my understanding, since the code is licensed "v2.1 or later" there are no formal requirements to upgrading, other than changing the license file. But I did want give everyone a chance to state their opinion. If there are no objections by 30.09.2014, I will proceed with upgrading the License file. Thanks, Tankred _______________________________________________ http://openpgpjs.org Subscribe/unsubscribe: http://list.openpgpjs.org
