In practice, I've seen very few spams that appeared to be sent via conventional mailing list software. You're probably right that if all email sent by say Majordomo was allowed pass all filters unmolested, the spammers would soon switch MD like headers. As of yet, they don't even try. Most spam looks like individual emails. The only typical (not universal) distinction in the headers is the funky US to 3rd world and back to US routing. - murr -
