So are you positive that all the people you are targeting have WAP enabled
cell phones? If so, and if the text entry needs aren't great, you could
pretty easily make a WML form page that uses CF to update the DB (Just like
a HTML page)

Probably. Cell phone is the most likely. I know that's not much of an
answer, but my conversation with them was short. Someone in the field had
dropped the ball, and we're trying to get a quick solution.

If you are interested in updating the database via a cell phone (WAP) or via
a Palm VII (Web Clipping) these are both *fairly* straightforward. Is this
what you are trying to do?

Usually what I do is send them a link (In the email) to a form/.cfm page. I
do this for a couple of reasons.
-Not all folks support HTML email, and even if they do the different email
clients support it differently. Which means, sometimes it looks like you
what you want and a lot of other times it doesn't.
-The other is that wireless is getting pretty big, but if you send a form to
a wireless device what you get is confusion. They end up seeing the code and
not the message. Where as a message with a link would be more easily
understood.
-Last but not least, there is that rare individual that downloads their
email and disconnects from the internet. A form in an email would probably
cause more confusion. On the other hand if they click on a link the browser
would probably pop up and say you have to get back on the internet silly.
Hope that gives you some thing to turn over in your head and to take to the
"Higher Ups".

My higher ups would like to send a .cfm form to update a database via E Mail
submission. My limited thoughts on this are that if the field people have
mobile E Mail access, then they should have Internet access as well. Is
this doable without major administration headaches, or should I just stick
to a standard form submission via web page and tell them it's not a viable
option?
Thanks,
