Actually, look at JUMP in the .net framework.  You can port Java code
over to C#.

By the way, Java isn't the slowest language I've used.  Any interpreted
(CF, ASP, etc) are the slowest.  I think Java bytecode will be fairly
fast; however, native binaries would be faster (your ENTIRE application
as a COM object; any takers?)  

The bottom line is that while Java may not be an ideal solution,
compiled servlets would be far superior to what's already in existence
(compiled cfml)
