when you say servlets, I'm assuming you're talking about
a java server environment?
which kind of negates the whole no cf server needed point...
I've never seen a true "JAVA" based site that was worth a
crap. I have seen some pretty good java server stuff though.
But at that point, its just a language preference, and cf is
DEFINATELY easier to pick up than java.
the talk about current cf compiling into a java server environment
is pretty interesting though. anxious to see how more of that lines
out.
also, if there are any flash developers out there who use cf, NOW
is the time to start making demands of macromedia.
imagine being able to code cf and make sql calls from directly inside
flash, or being able to call queries into text fields that autoreplicate
based on record count... (doable now in flash, but stupidly difficult)
all this WITHOUT the unnecessary generator piece in the middle... hmmm...
cool, cool stuff could be done if that interface is built right.
(that current harpoon stuff is cute, but I want power, not plugins...)
