May be this could help. I found it on CFcomet
COM error 0x800401F3. Invalid class string
If you're getting this error, one of two things holds true: your class
name is misspelled
or the object is not loaded on the server. Use OLEView to view the
correct name for the class
and to make sure the object exists.
The class name is not to be confused with the Class ID. Here are what
they look like:
Microsoft Access 2000:
Class ID (CLSID): {73A4C9C1-D68D-11D0-98BF-00A0C90DC8D9}
Program ID (ProgID): Access.Application.9
Class Name: Access.Application <--- Try to use this one

I too would be REALLY interested in this answer, I have tried cfobject and
received the same error. I might have gone wrong because I didnt "register"
the object.......but Im not sure.

Subject: First Time CFOBJECT USER, Long Time Developer
I am using CFOBJECT for the first time and have run into a situation that
I do not know what to make of.
Here is the code:
<cfobject type="COM" action="CREATE" class
="SequoiaSingleSignon.SingleSignon" server="10.1.68.248" name
="getSession">
Here is the output:
Error trying to create object specified in the tag.
COM error 0x800401F3. Invalid class string
The object is registered on the server. Since I am new at this I am not
sure what to do.
Thanks,
Bruce Sorge
