Hi List,

Thanks very much to the individuals who responded to me (on and
offlist) recently with help. It's the kindness of people taking the
time that makes this all possible.

I am going to be providing some user reports in csv format so users
can pull them into excel (etc). I need to allow users to modify that
data nd upload those spreadsheets and have my system import (update)
the data. I assume this requires they save-as-csv first...

I could write each report to a specific .csv name, and then require
they save-as-csv with the same name and upload... but that gets a
little hairy, doesn't it, with lots of different users and the same
report file?? I'd be really worried if an upload didn't work... or
something... someone else's data would write to the db (whoever
uploaded the file last). I can't put 'defining information' in the
spreadsheet if it can't be anything more than rows/columns of actual
fields/data, right?

(All users do have a directory that is their specifically, btw.)

Maybe this is a logic question more than a coding question. How
would other people handle this?

(Last tiny question: can I import actual excel, or only csv format?)

Best regards,
Palyne
