Verity works with all of those. A collection can include several common
formats including html, cfm, asp, pdf, xls, doc, txt, rtf, etc. Collections
can even be constructed from database queries

Is the emphasis here, "build"? Because Verity should be able to do this; you
shouldn't have to re-invent the wheel, unless the wheel (Verity) just
doesn't fit your needs.
What are you working with...database, static HTML pages, PDF forms, etc.?

Maybe I explained not clear. I want to build a search engine for a web
site where a user canl type any word and get a list of pages with links
where this word is used. (money, statistics, profit, etc,.)
