Subject: APRIL 10TH DFWCFUG EVENT - RSVP NOW !!
Hey, CF Gang!! It's the ColdFusion Crier again riproaring ready for our
next big event on April
10th at 6:30PM. How 'bout you?
I'M READY BATMAN!
YIKES! IT'S OUR BOY WONDER AGAIN IN HIS RED, VERY TIGHT, TIGHTS. THAT'S
WHY HIS VOICE IS SO
HIGH.
I'M EXCITED, BATMAN. WE'LL BE SEEING WILL ROGERS, FAMOUS HUMORIST AND
HORSEMAN THERE AT THE
EVENT.
WHAT? THEY DUG HIM UP? NO! NO! YOU DINGBAT (do dingbats hang upside
down?). IT'S WILLIAM
ROGERS, NOT WILL ROGERS!!
Yes, it's true! April 10th , our event will be headed by Mr. William
Rogers, founder and CEO of
Ektron, Inc. who, while on the speaking circuit, has delivered engaging
presentations to Web
developers (including local and national CFUG meetings), entrepreneurs, and
e-business
professionals.
Mr. Rogers has founded three successful tech start-ups, and served as chief
architect for a wide
range of new technologies so he is well worth listening to. With a wide
array of experiences in
developing new technologies and nearly three years invested in pioneering
software for streamlined
business-end-user-empowered Web content authoring and management, (his
company produces
eWebEditPro, a popular browser WYSIWYG solution) he brings unique
perspectives and insights - both
from a technical software/Web development standpoint and a business
entrepreneur standpoint. He
maintains ongoing dialogs with numerous key players in Web content
management. Mr. Rogers prior
start-ups include Global Telemedix (telemedicine software) and Zydacron, a
co-developer (with
AT&T) of the first video-conferencing chip set and largest seller of desktop
video-conferencing
components. He has also been at the leading edge of new technology
development at prestigious
companies such as DuPont Corporation and MIT Lincoln Labs. We are truly
honored to have him as
our speaker at our April Event.
For the DFWCFUG, Mr. Rogers will address several issues of interest.
"What's involved with
implementing a content management solution in a small to mid-sized
organization, or for a
corporate intranet?" Although he will outline various options available in
today's content
management marketplace, Ektron's solution is called eMPower and it runs on
top of ColdFusion. It
is one of the industry's easiest-to-use and lowest cost Web content
management applications and
Mr. Rogers will demonstrate it for us. To read about content management you
may download a
whitepaper from http://www.ektron.com/whitepaper/whitepapers.cfm. In
addition, Mr. Rogers will
address the "buy vs. build" question, discuss user needs (for both IT and
business users), and
explore cost considerations.
WHERE AND WHEN? Knowledge Development Center at 7301 N. State Hwy 161
(first floor of the
southern building). Maps attached. Food starts at 6:30PM and the door
