It is true on my machine. Are you in IE 5.0 on a MAC? Is the server NT
4.0 SP6a? CF Comments do work on my server for all browsers except IE 5.0
on MAC OS 9.2. The comments work after the <script> but not before. Your
configuration may be a little different than mine, but you can ask two other
developers in my office that saw me take out CF comments and it started to
work where it was hanging before.
Please don't say "That's not true" unless you have tested what I said with
the exact environment settings that I have here. You can come by my office
and I will prove it to you. You have comments before <script...> and it
hangs. Take them out and it does work. It's definitely the strangest thing
I've ever seen. I'm wondering why CF knows that it's IE on a MAC and cares
or does it just compile comments differently in 5 from 4.5 that causes this
problem???
I don't know why this little change in the code fixes it but it does, and
it works fine in all other browsers and OS's that I can find here at the
office, including Opera. If you can prove to me what I'm saying is not true
then I'm sorry, but at least three developers have seen it and it is doing
that. Thanks for the comments on how to comment in CF I had no idea

That's not true...I am commenting all my code and the JS worked
fine.....Make sure that your comments in CF have 3 --- dashes....

FYI,
If you call MACR with a support question, they do not charge you the $150 if
your problem is the result of a bug. In this case, I think you would be
charged. However, if you really did find a bug in CF, you don't get charged.
