Your problem is the delivery method. Unless Ultraedit has a specific MIME type it just will not work the way you want. You'll have to do as Clint says. If the browser does not know what to do with a file type you'll get the download option. Then windows has the opportunity to open the file. Now as you just pointed out in you next post, you have other issues. I recommend rethinking you whole process. You cannot manage a client application or the directories it uses though the web browser or CF (or any other web technology). Even MS Word saves it's files to the local HD. Is the point of this to do away with the mapped drives? Basically your going to have to rethink or give up something to edit these files through a browser.
