Once the original query is ran, does the data retain it's data type? This question is for a friend, and I do not have the oppurtunity to test out (no 5.0). He says that if he tries to perform a query on an existing dataset using date fields, that the data comes back screwy. I am assuming that the recordset now contains the date as a string so sorts are alphanumeric instead of by date. Or selections based on when date "between" date1 and date2, do not work.
