Hi Dave,

It's funny that you mention that because I wrote that Flash/CF message
board. If you and Billy are interested in using this app I would be glad to
contribute it to the cause and customize it to your needs. It is way more
limited in functionality than a CF/HTML only solution. Just let me know.

Regards,
Dennis

Check this site out:
http://www.zapdesigns.com/flash/cf_flashboard/purchase.cfm

This is a message board written in Flash and CF. The cost is $69 and you
get all the CF source code and Flash files (everything unencrypted). It is
running on an Access database (I had trouble getting past a "loading data"
message but it looked pretty cool. For $69 you could purchase it and update
it - in particular you might want to use SQL Server or something more
robust. At least it might be a cheaper way to get started.

Hey Billy,

We used to run simple message board (www.simplemessageboard.com) on our
Flash/CF resource site (www.flashcfm.com). I can't get to the SMB site
anymore and we had to take the forums down after moving the site from NT to
Linux. We're in the process of launching the new FlashCFM site and are
looking for a good forums program also. The best one I've seen so far is
Vbulletin (www.vbulletin.com) but I believe you have to pay $160 for the
source and it's PHP. We're looking for a CF only solution and it would be
cool to get some developers together and convert Vbulletin to CF. Also,
isn't Allaire/MM running FuseTalk? I didn't know there was an open source
version, do you mind pointing me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Dennis

Just wanted to follow up on the cfasp.com site idea - I'm in the process
of putting this online. Does anyone know of any good free forum
applications? At this point, I'm looking at the open-source version of
the Allaire Forums.
