Thank
you for your response,
What I
did to resolve the problem was to password protect the documents and when a
client decides to save the document onto their computer, they would be prompted
for a password which is in a way preventing the browser from having access to
the document, unless there is a way around the password system. Also,
we didn't want the browser to have the ability to change anything on the
document without the proper authority. I don't know if it's
automatic, but when you make a change to the document and print it out,
there is a red -------- pointing to a box with the item changed on
the document, which is awesome. Again, thanks!
Ron

Subject: RE: Modifying a word document displayed from a website...Hi Ron,Your best alternative (though not foolproof) is to make the document available as a PDF.MS Word has a feature under Tools called 'Protect Document', but I believe it protects the document from being opened only.Best of luck,Seth-----Original Message-----

Subject: Modifying a word document displayed from a website...Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to disable the ability to modify and save documents to the clients desktop or hard drive from a website? I have unchecked the Write check box from the Default Web Site Properties under the Home Directory tab. I also made the .doc file read only. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.Ron Mast
