Any WAV playing in the browser is going to be CLIENT-SIDE. ColdFusion,
JSP, Perl, ASP, Servlets, none of them will be able to play a WAV on the
client's browser.

Subject: RE: Can CF play .wav's?

Thanks very much Eli.

That wouldn't work for my request though. I'm talking about trying to
build an
application where people can upload .wav files, choose which ones from
their
directory as they wish, choose a speed (or time-between-play), and then
have
the various files play in a semi-random loop. The BGSOUND is apparently
for
a single wave file that plays as a background to an html page. That
isn't
really the manageable, dynamic application like I had in mind. (I
appreciate
your mentioning it though. I wasn't aware of it.)

Does anyone know of a CF function that would allow one to set .wav's to
play
in the way described? Or must I abandon CF for this and find an actual
programmer, like for java or perl?

I love CF. I hate finding a need for something it just can't do. I
thought
maybe someone more advanced than I would know of a way to approach an
app like this.

Best regards,
Palyne
