I'm back !!! Yep, I was thinking about wddx, but not sure how well it worked on version 4.
I have this afternoon free, want to catch lunch ? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Schreck, Tom Sent: Friday, August 16, 2002 8:48 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Question on cfcontent and building a link list Jack- How are you doing? Hope all is well. 2. Also I have build a link list, and then stored it off in in a database. I then want to retrieve it with minimum effort. I put together a crude loop-query-build script, but this requires me hitting the DB for the next(/each) record. I can bring the complete set of records with one query, but then I need to reconnect the list in the proper sorted order. Any suggestions ? - Have you thought of storing the link list as a wddx packet, or perhaps as a structure. Easy to keep it in order as well as looping to extract the desired record. Just a thought. Have you looked into MVC for Fusebox3? I've found it to be really useful for complex displays. They are hesitant to upgrade, due a litany of good reasons. So here we go... 1. using cfcontent to deliver a file off the web path is not working when I put it in code stream or cflocation to a separate file. I see on the Allaire site that this was a problem in with NT SP6, and the fix was 6a. Did anyone do this, and it (NOT) work? Is there another work-around? [The obvious is to the put the files in the web path...little alarms are going off in the ether when I wrote that.] 2. Also I have build a link list, and then stored it off in in a database. The nature of the data in #2 would work pretty well as a hash-access structure. Any suggestions to building an in-memory hash tables, that is easy to make persistent? Now a testimonial: FuseBox 3 has worked well for me. More that a few times I have been pleasantly surprised.
