October meeting - lntegrate Flash - Integrate Legacy applications

October 8 @ 7:00 PM

Mark your calendars now for the October 8th DFW ColdFusion Users Group meeting!  Teamstudio will be presenting Teamstudio Screensurfer, a Web-to-host integration tool that allows Web developers to integrate legacy systems into existing applications. Learn how this tool enables users to convert mainframe screens to Web pages automatically, without requiring special software in the browser. Developers can use this tool to mimic keyboard-centric commands performed on a mainframe application, and to manipulate the screen's data so that it appears the way they want it to within the GUI, Web-based front end.

In addition, learn how Screensurfer acts as co-server support with ColdFusion and other script languages, such as HTML. Via Screensurfer's CFX tag or its XML-over-HTTP support, developers can make calls from their ColdFusion pages to Screensurfer (pass data) and integrate legacy application data and functionality into their ColdFusion pages.

For more information on Teamstudio Screensurfer, please visit www.teamstudio.com/screensurfer.

Doyle Calvert, Flash guru that has built Flash solutions for several Fortune 500 companies (see www.digitaldoyle.com), will be discussing using Flash as an application platform.  That's right - there's more to Flash than cartoons and the infamous "skip intro".  Using ActionScript, you can build some powerful applications that have the power and flexibility of other language with the richness of the Flash user experience.
