Ron,

We got the tags from the Developer Exchange at:

http://devex.macromedia.com/developer/gallery/index.cfm

under the Custom Tags, and then I think it was under Utilities.  We did a search for "convert" and "HTML" and found these:

"Word2HTML" and "HTML2Pdf"

Haven't used them yet, but they look promising!

Good Luck to us Both,

bk

Hi Bill,
Where did you get the custom tag?  From CFComet?

Thanks for the reply.

We tried a number of things from CFComet, source code examples and the like.  The main problem we had was that once we used the CreateObject command to create an instance of Word, we could not get it to Close.  We were unable to close the instance in script, unable to close the Word instance in Task Manager...  The instances would just pile up, and we had to reboot the machine to eliminate the instances.

After messing around unsuccessfully for several hours, we eventually found our solution in a free Custom tag...

Thanks again!

Excel files can be set up as a datasource; Word files cannot.  Youll need to process the file using the Word COM object.  Theres a lot of useful information concerning this on CFComet.com

Group,

Does anyone have any ideas, or a general approach towards opening up a Word Document in Cold Fusion, such that it can be read in and operated on???  I saw the listing on the Excel files earlier, and this is kind of related...

Thanks
