'depends on the finance software. if the sw supports some type of flat text file for imports and exports it may be as easy as determing the format and file extension it needs, then let CF create the text file on the server and provide a link to it. IF the users are using IE and that file type is associated to the personal finance app, when the link is clicked it would hopefully open the app and import the data. you can do similar things with cf/asp/whatever and ms outlook to add dates to users' outlook calendars, etc.
but, as i mentioned, it all depends on what the finance sw supports.

Does anybody have any information on how we can we allow the users to download the data from web into their personal finance software? Is it possible to do it from a coldfusion application?
