Subject: RE: Stupid CF newbie question about cfdump

The tough thing about cfdump is that in order to see the data it has to
be stored in a structure, so for instance, you can see all your session
variables this way:

<cfdump var="#session#">

You couldn't see all your server variables this way:

<cfdump var="#server#">

Because the server scope isn't exposed as a structure in cf5. (I'm not
sure but I think it may be in MX).

The same goes for the local variables scope. In CF5 the "variables"
scope isn't a structure, so you can't dump the variables scope (it is in
MX, so you can there), however, if you're using FB and you're true to
the architecture, most of your variables should be in the attributes
scope anyhow, and you should be able to see what you need with:

<cfdump var="#attributes#">

Hey guys,

I'm trying to track down a problem in a CF5/Fusebox site and I was
wondering if there's a way to get CF to dump all the variables that
exist for the site to the page, temporarily, so I can find the anomaly
in the pattern. Something is getting set in one place that isn't in
another and I'm trying to find where the difference lies.

In Flash's IDE I can use the debugger and View Variables or View
Objects. But I don't work with CF very much and confess ignorance about
some of the rudimentary basics.

Thanks for any illumination anyone might care to share.
