As an avid Mac user and frequent Windows-basher, I'm as eager as the
next guy to jump in and trash Windows. However, at my company I have
absolutely no say in what we use for our servers, and we're using
Windows Enterprise 2003. After suffering through NT 4 and 2000, even
though it pains me to do so, I must admit Windows 2003 is a big step
in the right direction. Yes, you have to keep a close eye on patches,
and yes you have to run it on beefier hardware than you might with
Linux, but it's incredibly stable compared to its predecessors. I
only ever reboot our servers when required by a patch. Granted that's
pretty often, but whereas CF on W2K demanded pretty constant attention
to keep it running, I never have to worry about our Windows 2003
boxes.

Just thought I'd chime in and say if you're stuck with Windows, make
sure to upgrade to 2003.

Matt
