If you don't need that stuff, then MySQL is free and it's extremely
fast.  The big change in MySQL for me was the addition of
transactions.  I don't use stored procedures very often in order to
keep my applications more portable between databases, and I think I've
only used views about twice in SQL Server.  Depends on the type of
development you do and what features you need.

The new version of MySQL will have stored procedures.
