Sorry, I may be completely misunderstanding what you're trying to do. 
Are you talking about using the list in your SQL query like this?

SELECT * 
FROM students 
WHERE grade IN (#myList#)

Depending on the data type of the items in the list you might have to
use QuotedValueList on your list.
