Thanks for the info. I tried that, but it's having the same problems as doing it through CF admin.

Any other ideas? Could it perhaps be a problem with Windows?

There are several ways to access a database from CF. The main two
ways to get to access would be via a JDBC connection (which is what you're
using if you use the access drivers packaged with CF). The other way is to
create an ODBC DSN for the database in your windows control panel, and then
access that DSN from CFMX by adding an ODBC Socket datasource to the
administrator, which would reference the DSN you created. Its a good idea
to name them the same thing, for simplicity's sake.

You may be having a problem with the native JDBC driver that CFMX is
using to access the database. I can't really explain what might have
happened to break it, but its worth using the ODBC driver to see if that
will function. If it does, you can either stick with that driver, or
possibly replace the JDBC driver as it may have become corrupted somehow.

        Good luck,

Not sure I follow. To use Access, don't I have to use the Access drivers?

you.

Standard ColdFusion Admin drivers.

All,

The server I'm on just recently was upgraded to Windows2003. While everything else seems to be running fine, the one thing that didn't make the transition very well as that the Access and Access w/ Unicode drivers don't seem to be working. I can't get any datasource using those drivers to verify.

And when you hit the sites that they are running, I get the following

error:

Error Executing Database Query.

coldfusion.sql.DatabaseConnectionException: Timed out trying to establish connection

I know, Access is not great but it should at least be functional! And there has been no code change, no DB change, nothing. We have the latest MX version on the server, the latest Access Jet drivers.

Anyone heard of this? If so, how do I fix?? Help!!

Thanks!
Jake
