Yeah, see that's my problem... I don't know anything at all about Linux, so my ability to finagle anything is severely limited.

I just grabbed some RAM off eBay to boost me to the required 256MB... hopefully that helps out. (of course the processor speed is still pretty low, but hey, it's a start). If the RAM doesn't help, I'll likely switch to Slackerware.

Thanks!

I was able to run a developer version of CFMX 6.1 on Slackware a while back,
and now I am using BlueDragon, both without problems. I did have to finagle
a few things after the install to make it work though.

Does SlackerWare actually run CF Server? I noticed the Blackstone beta requirements don't list that install as one that works.

        Jake,

You can make do with 64mB RAM (I run linux and bluedragon on it as
well for the same purpose), but not if you want to run X. I also recommend
a distribution like Slackware for lower-capacity machines as it just

doesn't

have the bloat that Red Hat products do.

Subject: OT: Old RAM?

All,

I've recently acquired a family member's old Celeron 400mhz-ish box. I've formatted and re-installed Fedora Linux on it and plan to use it as a Linux CF test box.

Everything installed like a champ, and I'm playing around now. But it's slooooow. So I checked out the RAM stats and the box only has 64MB, and the minimum install is 256MB!

Before I went and bought RAM for this old box, I thought perhaps someone might have some old SDRAM 168pin laying around I could trade or buy.

Help!
Jake
