Did you create a SID in the ORACLE tnsnames.ora file?  I think that’s the name of the file.

Subject: Creating ORACLE DSN

I’m trying to create a DSN to my ORACLE production box.  It’s getting hung up on SID Name attribute.  I’m comparing what I’m trying to do with an existing ORACLE DSN (to our development box which connection works).  The dev DSN uses the name of the dev server in the SID Name attribute.  I tried the production server name and it fails.  Any ideas?

Thanks
