That's hilarious!  I'm ABD (all but dissertation) for a PhD in music
history and taught/TAd several music history and appreciation classes,
so believe me, I know your pain with the gregorian chants.  As an
undergrad we had to memorize the entire catholic mass and be able to
recognize each of the sections by hearing 10-15 second snippets of
parts ... ah, the memories. ;-)
