Correct Matt, we are distributing CDs with PDF files. Where can I get this Java search that can access PDF files?

First and foremost, javascript can't access the filesystem so it would be impossible to get it to read any files at all, let alone being able to search PDFs in the manner in which Verity does. Are you trying to distribute a CD of PDF files that has search functionality? I believe in most cases when I've seen CDs that do that it's done with Java, and even then you get prompted to allow the Java piece to hit your local filesystem.
