This one is actually a Windows Form using .NET / C#.   The client
application hits a web service, that is located on a separate box from
the DB server.

I think you are probably right.  Probably just a little hiccup, but
you know how it goes when its Friday.  Would hate to see something
crash on Saturday that could drag me back in :)
