I'm asking the whole roster to first read the following, then forward it to EVERYONE you know. This affects us all. It's the reason why our industry is in the shape its in right now; and it's only going to get worse if we don't stop it. Fortunately, we have Diplomacy on our side and can get this rescinded just like we did with the "Mass Gathering" law in the state of Texas.
Fight The Rave Act
Due to the recent passage of congressional laws, commonly know as the "Rave Act," the Government is now in power to arrest of harass any DJ, Promoter, Club, Bartender, Door-person, Sponsor, even Customers, on loose legal grounds, potentially as vague as saying: You are under arrest because your DJ name is DJ "E" (so they say the name promotes the use of Ecstasy); never mind that the DJ's real name might be "Eric". These laws are so broad and vague, that everyone associated with the Electronic Music Scene, or Clubs has serious reason to be in fear. This bill is unconstitutional at the very least, and could bring about a sure collapse of our already economically devastated Electronic Music industry.
Already the biggest sponsor of Club and Electronic Music, Camel, has canceled its whole program; millions of dollars lost due to this ridiculous bill being past. Hundreds if not thousands have lost their jobs all over the country. We must STOP THIS NOW!
But thanks to Rave Secure we are about to start pursuing legislative support to challenge this untimely, unfair, unconstitutional, but broadly powered law. Rave Secure has had major success over the years, securing Governmental Support, Legal Permits and Licenses for Electronic Music Events, otherwise known as Raves. The key to their success is that one of the Founding Partners is Benjamin Jimerson. Mr. Jimerson has extensive knowledge and connections in the Political World. He has been Commissioned as a "Goodwill Ambassador" by several Governors, Mayors, City Councils, etc. And has even been named a "Goodwill Ambassador" by a Special Senate Resolution.
Mr. Jimerson has agreed to take on the fight, which will include Consultancy with a former Judge, and a former California Senate Legislative Assistant, who were responsible in getting the "Mass Gathering Permit," (another unconstitutional and unfair law) rescinded. But it will take money to retain Rave Secure and get Mr. Jimerson started acting on our Industry's behalf in this "Diplomatic Fight."
We are asking that each PROMOTER, CLUB, or SPONSOR for donations to the "Fight The Rave Act Fund" to fight this ridiculous bill, which affects the state of our Electronic Music industry. For more information please call:
