Thats generally the problem with laptops, you cant upgrade them. I wonder if there is a PCMCIA(?) Card that will do what you want, however that would problaly be expensive too. Yet another problem with laptops, stuff for them USUALLY costs more then their desktop counterparts..

I think you're SOL. If you want a line-in input, you're going to need a sound-card with line in. Unfortunately because you have a laptop, that means your upgrade possibilities are pretty much limited to USB sound cards. And the cheapest USB sound card with line in that I could find was about $100. I wonder why no-one makes cheap USB sound cards, PCI sound cards can be had for $10-20.
