Well... I was in Miami last year for my school's spring break (which was conveniently timed with the Ultra Festival... heh heh). We asked a couple of locals what clubs to hit up in South Beach (this was during Sander Kleinenberg's set at Ultra, in case you were wondering what type of 'local' we were asking)... they recommended Opium Garden (which I believe was recently renovated...) Sad to say, I didn't get to check it out when I was there cuz the WMC was the week before, and all the SoBe clubs (!!!) were closed the week I was there (!!!!!!). Ah yes, a very *relaxing* spring break it was indeed.
Also, you might want to check out Crobar... which is an offshoot of the original Crobar in Chicago. I actually got back from Chicago a week ago, and one of the radio stations airs music from the Crobar live every Saturday... seemed to be a mix of Chicago house and some techno... And yeah, me and a buddy of mine drove down, but I couldn't get in (!!!!!!) because I was wearing tennis shoes. Luckily, the night wasn't ruined cuz there was another club around the corner (Zentra) that didn't have such a strict dress code... but just wanted to say something in case you don't plan on packing dress shoes.
