Hi all,
Well first off I'm back from Burning Man so hello! I will post pics once
I get them off my camera.
I'm pleased to announce that things in the producing realm are going well
for me, and so I'm finally ready to start my record label... whay! I've
decided to start with a funky house label, because economically it should
provide for a more successful platform than UK hard house. If all goes
well then I can eventually create a subdivision of the label for the
harder sound that I also like... but that won't be until further down the
road.
Here's the tentative idea I've come up with for the record sleeve design:

As you may already know, Mizumo Music is the name of my business that I
started back in 2001 for my DJ career. Back then I had plans to
eventually turn it into a label. So I'm happy to say that the time has
finally come! (coughcough... albeit 5 years later!)
A little background on the name -- Mizumo ("Zumi") was the name of my
little pet lizard at the time of the conception of the business (rest her
lil soul! She passed away last October). :( Anyways, she was a bearded
dragon, and yes that's her on the cover (yay for Illustrator!). I'm
making her red because in Chinese culture red represents good fortune &
red dragons (even though this isn't the particular 'dragon' they're
talking about) represent happiness, fertility, activity, a sleu of other
good things & also fight off evil spirits...
In any case, wanted to share the exciting news... exciting for me, at
least! I will keep you posted with details & which producers I'm looking
to feature in the first few releases...
