That doesn't make sense at all.  Don't you mean that '\\' (not
'/') is the cmdchar?  The char '!' more looks like a command char
of a remote script, which also seems to be what you're
explaining.

So, you're problem is that your script doesn't do nickname
completion if you put the char '!' in front of the first chars of
the nick?

Btw, are you sure you want that ':' there in this case?
