"extensions" that cause the server to violate longstanding standard practices
of the irc community cause the server to no longer become an irc server, but
rather a chat service that at one time was irc-like.
I don't support non-irc servers, it's too difficult to keep track of the
zillion different odd breakages that each one requires.
