Because I am always rather vague and evasive when it comes down to people pressing me for particular details about new releases, (I don't like to commit to dates and features because people have a nasty habit of holding you to your promises... ;-) there has been some confusion about just when and what would be in an epic4-2.0.1 release.
So this is my official position statement on the issue, and I don't suspect I'll change my mind going forward. I have always divided bug reports into one of three general categories, in increasing severity: 1) Bugs which can be worked around, either because the bug is caused by doing something that isn't sensible, or there are multiple ways to do some task and one of them is broken but the others work fine. 2) Bugs which cannot be worked around, because there's only one way to do some task and it's broken. 3) Bugs which cannot be worked around, because some external force which you do not have control over can cause a malfunction. EPIC4-2.0 has several type 1 malfunctions which have been reported. However, they can all be worked around, so nobody is really put out by their existance, although they do represent rough edges that people need to be careful about. There are no type 2 or type 3 malfunctions in epic4-2.0 that anyone has reported yet. Fixes for type 1 malfunctions will be made immediately to epic5 and not backported to epic4. EXCEPT -- if someone reports a type 2 or type 3 bug in epic4, then it will be necessary to release epic4-2.0.1 to fix that bug, and I'll probably include fixes for other (type 1) fixes at that time. You can feel free to report bugs in epic4, and I'll keep a list, but please do not expect me to release an epic4-2.0.1 unless a really super critical bug is found, and the bar for that is rather high.
