I guess it depends on what the Master race was so "Master" at. Allow
me to share my own story with you. It takes place in 2127.
It's actually similar to Gundam. Instead of Federation vs. Zeon, we
have NATO vs. ATRA. Unlike Gundam, ATRA (which rather quickly is
dropped to simply the non-capitalized Atra) are the good guys, however
they are more of a Zeon equivalent than anything. The story is about
how a man named John Septem got pretty fed up with 22nd century
America, forms an alliance, and eventually ends up separating from
America and living in space colonies.
I've seen a lot of people's views as to what the 22nd century will be
like, and being somewhat of a dystopian (or realist, depending how you
look at it), I disagree with all of them. For instance, a lot of
people, mostly secular people, think that all the world's problems are
going to go away - war, poverty, uneducated people, prejudice,
illiteracy, and so on. I think this is California Dreamin'.
My view of the 22nd century is that, while there is no real war, it's
hardly peace. John Septem realizes that the lack of war is not
necessarily peace, because while he does not take part in war, his
life is scarsely peaceful. Christians are prejudiced against, but
Catholics in particular are hated more than anything, and John Septem
is a Catholic. The prejudice against Catholics far surpasses any
prejudice sustained by any other group out there to date. This
prejudice is supposedly in the name of better reasoning, rationality,
peace, knowledge, and so on. However, none of said issues are really
helped at all, not by the prejudice or anything else. We don't really
know too much about poverty in the 22nd century, but we do get an
incite as to the atrocious education systems of the time. Most kids
can't read, or count higher than five for that matter. There are
government controlled private schools, however, where the education is
top-notch, or so it would seem; as the kids from these schools usually
end up in charge of society - and extremely corrupt.
John Septem, as well as other youth from the time, takes it upon
himself to educate himself, a 22nd century equivalent of
homeschooling/unschooling. But eventually the schools catch on to this
and make them all go to school and make them money.
John Septem is an intelligent individual, and is one of the few
intelligent people left who have reasoning, accountability,
retionality, and can see through all the BS. In a way, this makes him
one of a "Master Race". However, you seem to believe that a Master
Race would wish to eradicate the Loser race, which does not happen at
all. John Septem merely wishes to separate himself from the rest of
the world and prepare a place where other Catholics can move to and be
free of the worlds controlled by America and NATO. He wishes for this
country to be controlled by the Magisterium - the Catholic Church
itself. It's the _Loser_ Race that won't let them go, and not long
after Septem and his supporters have gained their independance, NATO
strikes again, in their conquest for power and domination. The ensuing
war results in the death of billions, the destruction of the colonies,
and the devistation of the Earth - and it was solely NATO's fault.
When NATO realized they couldn't win the battle, they launched a
massive nuclear strike on L-3, and the colonies were propelled into
the planet below.
To sum it up, I believe this may be the case of Master Race not
seeking to hurt anyone, they're above that, but the Loser Race ends up
destroying almost everything because they wouldn't let go of their
dominance. This is what I mean about it depending on what they were so
"Master" at. If they were simply physically better, then their egos
might get in the way, but if it was simply their intelligence that was
hightened, they should know better than to commit genocide.
As an interesting side note, just as Giren Zabi wasn't a Newtype,
Hitler wasn't German - he was Austrian. Unlesss I have him mixed up
with someone else.
