We will get the last word from Bandai in less than 2 months. I'll
wait until then to continue this line of discussion.

I.e., the 3-Dom set is aimed that slither of customer segments crazy
enough to pay the price and spend the time to build the same model
three times over to recreate a scene that lasted about TEN SECONDS,
from a 25-years old anime to boot.

I am still actively social engeering my wife to accept that I will
have to spend several weekends to build three copies of the same
model, which is in turn almost the same as the Dom Troopen and Rick
Dom II currently on the shelf and the Desert Dom Troopen that's still
unopened.

To be realistic, the Rick Dom/Dom kit and the 3-Dom kit are probably
the last we will see of the Vanilla Dom.

Following previous pattern, we might see Extra Finish version and
Crystal version if the regular kits sell very well. But I detected a
hint of Dom-fatique even in the HK-based forum S-Coolboy, so I won't
be holding my breath for any re-colors or other special or regular
releases.

Well sure it would be extra cool, but HG/MG/PG have never included
damaged parts right? I can likewise ask for Zaku's broken snout for
the first episode, and Gundam's broken head and arm stump for the last
episode. I am a little disappointed B-Club doesn't make more
diorama-type after-market parts in their EX-GKP product line.

OTOH, broken shield and head are SO easy to make yourself. At worst
you just buy an extra Gundam or Zaku for the parts, which is still a
lot cheaper than any of the EX-GKP sets. What's tricky is making the
model poseable enough to make the scene. Things like Char's Zaku's
waist and 3-Dom's clasped hands are real sellers. I also hope Bandai
is finding that good stands (e.g. Asshimar's) convert into measureable
profit.
