My problem with forums is that I have to actually go to the forum,
which after a while I just tend to "forget" to do. Whereas with
mailing lists it comes right to my email, and my Gmail notifier is
right in my system tray, so I can't forget to read it. That's why I
really like the subscribe option in most forums, so that if there is a
thread I'm interested in, at least I won't lose the thread even though
I might lose contact with the rest of the forum.
