As for a new series?  Who knows.  Destiny started out looking like an update of Zeta, but it quickly diverged and went into completely new territory.  Its possible that a new CE series could start out looking like a UC series, but all similarities could be gone by the end of the second episode.  In any event, let's just hope that the next series doesn't start with yet ANOTHER Gundam hijacking.  You'd think that by now the various nations would have learned how to put security code locks on their prototype mobile suits...

Well, to be honest... a new series WITHOUT the old cast returning would be a breath of fresh air, but I doubt that they'd be able to do that.

As for the relationship between Gilbert and Talia, I'm willing to bet that it will be fleshed out in the novelization. The only other alternative is the Destiny the EDGE manga, but I'm not even sure where that is going to go anymore... :S
