The first clear picture of Dom vs Rick Dom, even better than the MG
rare view pix.  The difference in HGUC's back seem to be more
pronounced than in the MG's.  From this pic, I would now say: Rick Dom
is _easily_ distinguishable by its "backpack", Dom's back mounted
boosters are so much smaller that they don't count as a "backpack".

Looking back, the sole may not be as swappable as I would play around with. So I retract my comment, it's not hot swappable... go buy 2 copies.

I like Black Trinity's purple and dark grey bazooka but Rick Dom's
light grey vest. BTW is the Rick Dom kit's colors identical (not just
similar) to the "0079 Ver" of MG Dom?

If the Hobbysearch pic is accurate, then, no. The MG's black is not greyish and the upper body plastic doesn't have a blue tint as HGUC.

And the pix prove me positively wrong on the one prediction I made.
The set doesn't skim at all on gimmicks: there are 3 bazookas, 3 heat
rods (2x yellow, 1x blue) and 3 complete sets of hands, plus the pair
of grasped fists.

So it's a real discount (> 21%) on the price when you get the Black
Trinity set.  A major (but welcome) surprise.

About which MSV would you be thinking?  I don't know any MSV Dom that
doesn't require MAJOR resculpting.  The recolor candidates would be
Extra Finish, Char's Dom (who really cares?) and Real Type (even less
likely than Char's).  Personally I wouldn't mind if they
retrocon/invent a completely new custom color scheme (how about
Dozle's Dom?).

True, just wishful thinking for a prototype Dom  or Desert type. Or untool it for that Dowage in ZZ. I just wish some MSV coming back after the MG Perfect Gundam killed the idea.

Anyway it all depends on sales.  We can pretty much predict that
vanilla Dom isn't going to draw big numbers in US.  On the entire GML,
we might be seeing a grand total of 5700 Yens of purchase: I will get
a Black Tri-set, you will (maybe?) get a Dom/Rick Dom set; Gus already
told me he's not definite on it.  And as I said before, I hear a tone
of 0079 or Dom fatigue in the Chinese-based forum.

PS: surprising (perplexing?) that Eva is enjoying an Extra Finish release.

I speculated it earlier, Bandai has a tendency of releasing metallic/clear variation in a short period of time, probably because the raw material cost for that certain "special treatment" is a bargain for this season. Wonder if there'd be another plated Zeta HGUC for Z III time.
