Surely hope so. The HG ZZ looked sweet back then already, full transformation and all. But I have never build it and don't know what weakness it has. My question on Bandi to a HGUC ZZ would be its polycap use. It maybe harder for Bandai to do some parts on ZZ with just regular polycap (HG ZZ seems to have a custom polycap set) and/or ABS, as polycap means extra thickness to cover the cap and ABS can't do some color right.

I look forward to see how Bandai handle it. But I'd hate to see parts swap like HGUC Zeta, esp. unlike Zeta they did a full transformation in HG already (Zeta did it with MSiA and Koudo Senshi but not in models).

I think once the new Zeta releases have run their course we will at least see a HGUC ZZ kit.  They've already revamped the other three Gundams from the original HG Line (RX78, RX-178 Mk II, and Zeta) so it stands to reason that at some point they will upgrade the ZZ in 1/144 scale.  The big stumbling block is the transformation angle but they were able to balance that with the Zeta so I think it is doable.

 

I think eventually they will revisit older waves.

Wonder if there's a ZZ model revival as this year is ZZ's 20th anniversary, but it's DVD set is out and the first portion of the year would probably still be the period for Z III.
