You have no idea what the time constraints were or were not. Ergo, your argument holds no water. If you have evidence that there were issues with time, then yes you have a leg to stand on. But you have presented no such evidence. Nor has anyone else.
As for credits, many people enjoy them for more reasons than seeing whether an empty mobile suit was present. My dad, for one, loves to sit through the credits in the movie theater. Drives me nuts when I go see a movie with him, but you can't get him out of his seat until the last credit rolls. And contrary to what you claim, I have yet to see ANY chain here in LA County that turns the lights up to the point where you can't clearly make out what's on the screen. Yes, the lights go up enough for people to navigate out of their seats and to the exits. But the details on the screen are still very clear. Of course, given that Tomino made his appearence after the films had finished, I think it's safe to say that people needing to find their way out right away was not a consideration.
Why you're getting so uptight about people who wanted to see credits is quite beyond me. It is, imo, a reasonable thing to want to do, particularly when there are strong fans of the movie(s) present (as could be safely assumed with something like the Zeta movies). It's a pretty blatant screw-up by the people running the event even if Char didn't have a history of showing up at the end of Gundam series. Credits should be shown to the finish. PERIOD.
