Hey guys, just a few (OT) items that might interest the list.
First the rightstuf online anime store (www.rightstuf.com) has the
complete Giant Robo DVD collection plus the phenomenal 2 soundtrack
cds for a jawdropping $12.99! Dear lord, that deal is beautiful.
Giant robo is my absolute favorite anime! I was so obsessed with that
show that I actually bought Laser discs of some of the episodes even
though I didn't have a player. If you haven't seen GR, jump on this.
You won't regret it.
Second item. There's a new hard science anime in production,
Moonlight mile. http://www.wowow.co.jp/anime/moonlight/ I've got a
few vol. of the manga. It's closer to our world than that depicted in
Planetes. That is to say, the level of space colonization is still
really primitive. Probably only about 100 people living in space,
judging by the manga. Oh, and there's lots of zero-g sex which I'm
sure will be toned down in the anime.
