Anyone happen to know what the sales figures have been for the two SRW OG games?  I remember when I went looking for a copy of the second game a few weeks after it came out, the local Game Stop had sold out and wasn't expecting to ever have it back in stock.  So I'm not too hopeful on the sales figures.  Nippon Ichi does strategy games as well and periodically a new one is released in the US (four to date, afaik, with Disgaea 2 being the most recent).  But once again I don't think they get shelf space for very long.

My suspicion is that the software retailers (much of which these days is effectively the EB/Game Stop chain) see strategy games of that type as a niche market that will sell a number of copies, but only for a short period of time.  So the sales strategy is probably to put them on shelves for a month or so, and then don't bother to restock afterwards.  Presumeably fans rush to get the games when they are initially released (in part because they like the games, and in part because the games will be hard to find within a couple of months), which justifies stocking them at that point.  But afterwards sales drop down dramatically and it's not viewed as worthwhile to continue to devote shelf-space to them.

But that's just a guess on my part.

Unfortunately, by most accounts the best Gundam games are the ones least
likely to be released in the States -- the Giren's Greed series and
G-Generation series (too much dubbing to do on the former, and with regards
to both, all Japanese executives know hyperactive Americans don't play or
appreciate turn-based strategy games).

Are there any G-Generation games on the Game Boy platforms? I wonder if
some of the WonderSwan G-Generation games could be ported to the Game Boy
Advance or DS. If it's worth it to release both Super Robot Wars OG games
in the US, surely G-Generation can carve out a niche.
