I finished the kit and I have to say I am impressed. One thing that has not
been reported as far as I know is how they handled the mono-eye. They
didn't use the external lever like the version 1 Zaku and they didn't go
with the manually poseable eye like the "Katoki" Zaku. Instead they made it
a gear mechanism that moves the eye as you turn the head. To get it to go
right you need to turn the head right. To get it to go left turn the head
left. While it is interesting, I must admit that I miss out on the full
range of motion provided by the other attempts.

The arms and hands are beautiful. They didn't fo the route of fully
poseable, and independantly moveable fingers like the Dom, but they didn't
go the typical route either. The four fingers are hinged so that they can
be moved independantly from the knuckle up but the lower portions of the
bottom three fingers are connected like the standard kits. This compromise
allows it to still hold the gun well, but also look less "toy-like". The
sculpt is nice and beefy as befits a Zaku.

The cables were a pleasure this time around. The new system works
flawlessly.

All in all the kit is almost 100% perfect with the exception of the monoeye
mechanism.
