I think the is additional detailing on the skirt armour. Also, the bolts that hold the armour in place is also done in metal.

I definitely want to get one but I can't decide whether to go with the basic or upgrade to the "Metal Spec" edition. The primary difference seems to be that the Metal Spec version has metal parts for the primary lens, the gun barrel, and some armor plates for the cockpit.
